Ohhh, wow. 2016 has been so great on so many levels I don't even know where to start. First comes the wonderful winter we've had, powder-hunting in Hokkaido. Of course, there's also that beautiful trip in Yunnan that completely disconnected us from our busy world in Hong Kong (...)
When choosing a hotel, I aim for those that are small, thoughtfully designed and bring in elements of the location's culture and unique feel. De Lanna Boutique Hotel portrays well Northern Thailand, with a beautiful Northern Thai architecture, local fabrics and gorgeous handicrafts...
National sport of Thailand, Muay Thai is a combat sport similar to boxing and martial art. It uses the entire body, incorporating punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes. It is so popular that instead of watching a fight, you can simply try it yourself and put yourself through the gruelling training of champions... I tried Muay Thai, and I loved it!
I've been to Thailand many times now, and this temple is by far one of the most beautiful discoveries I've had the chance to make. Wat Pha Last is nestled in the forest, a few kilometers down the road to Doi Suthep. Built on the top of a rock, this Buddhist temple is completely out of sight, lost in the lush jungle, as peaceful as it can get. You won't find any tourists here, any tuk tuk or food stall, but only butterflies, Buddhas and monks.
You can spend the day overflying desert islands and the night trekking on a volcano; attend a cooking class on the morning and ride a zipline in the jungle with wild monkeys around you on the afternoon. In short, it's a whole different world that awaits you with surprises you won't even imagine... Pack your flip-flops, swimsuit and passport. You're off to a big adventure!
The Similan Islands, a string of islands off the West Coast of Thailand, are clear blue diamonds in the Andaman Sea. The secret to enjoy this piece of paradise is to stay overnight. Then you'll have the glorious beaches virtually to yourself in the golden hours before the boats begin arriving at about 11am and after they've all departed at about 3pm. Simply magic
We stayed in Phuket only a couple of days, time to relax and organize our trip to the Similan Islands. Which means we had three main priorities when we choose the hotel: the situation, the swimming pool and the Spa. I remembered the photos of the insaaanely huge pool I saw on Deevana Plaza Phuket Instagram, so we decided to go for it...
Sprawling across the grounds of a magnificent 200 year-old Tamarind Tree, Tamarind Village is a haven of peacefulness with the charm of a village. Not only we enjoyed the situation and the design, but we also enjoyed the lovely Spa and the incredible Ruen Tamarind Restaurant. Let's explore the property.
More than a resort, the Panviman Chiang Mai is a unique place that offers an adventurous experience among the natural beauty of Northern Thailand. During our girls' getaway in Thailand, after days exploring Bangkok and Chiang Mai, we were more than happy to treat ourselves with a couple of days in that hidden piece of paradise...
Urban jungle, famous islands, dream snorkeling spots, flamboyant temples, lush mountains, historic cities, jungle treks, how are we supposed to decide where to go and what to see when there is so much to explore? We've created our perfect Thailand trip itinerary, the good balance between relaxing, getting some adrenaline, shopping and discovering Thailand's cultural identity...
Early morning in Bangkok, I can't wait to explore the city. I dive into a whole different world, where businessmen queue to get their breakfast in street food stalls, minibuses honk whenever they cross a pedestrian and people deposit offerings on the mini-temples in front of their buildings. My eyes sparkle, amazed by everything that is going on around me...
In the old days, the Banyan tree provided shelter to weary travelers. The line of hotels chose to adopt the name as a symbol of the relief and comfort provided by nature... Which suits The Banyan Tree Bangkok perfectly.
Sawadee Ka! Welcome in Ko Samui, an island located in the Gulf of Thailand, some 700 km south of Bangkok. Looking for a place to truly disconnect, we took a 4 days trip in that postcard destination. Palm trees, dazzling sunshine, white sandy beaches - it's all here…
Southeast Asia is a marvelous part of the world which perfectly balances mysterious temples, breathtaking landscapes and ancient history. There are so many unmissable things here that any personality would be able to find its happiness. It's an inexhaustible source of creative and spiritual inspiration.
I'm thrilled to announce you a huuuge news: I've been working for weeks on a beautiful project with Lois from We are Sole Sisters... A travel guide to Southeast Asia! A collaboration between We are Sole Sisters & Miles of Happiness
We didn't know much about this city. It was our very first time in Thailand. What a surprise. Chiang Mai is the perfect combination of city accoutrements and country sensibilities, with an incredible laid-back and creative atmosphere. The perfect destination to discover an authentic, relax & beautiful Thailand...
2014 has been a little bit crazy. A wedding. A hug with a koala. A one way ticket to Hong Kong. A kiss with an elephant. A jump from a plane. A Korean karaoke. A trek in the Himalayas. An encounter with a Buddhist monk. A Japanese garden. A cat café. A never to be forgotten curry. Yeah, we've pretty much kicked our bucketlist this year*.

We didn’t come to Asia. Asia came to us -as a professional opportunity. Seven years later, I am extremely grateful about all the unexpected -these things that weren’t planned and brought us where we’ve been. It’s been a rich and fabulous journey, with a myriad of incredible adventures -here is our Top 20 experiences in Asia.
