After a year in Hong Kong Island's madness, we decided to move before we get crazy. And we discovered the other Hong Kong. For those who follow me on Instagram, you've seen the photos of my afternoons on desert beaches and my running sessions along the sea, looking at the sunset. Yes, Lantau is kinda cool. Real escape from the crowds of the city in only a few minutes ferry or MTR, Lantau will surprise you by its authenticity. Forget about Ngong Ping and explore the real beauty of Lantau Island.

I've been to Thailand many times now, and this temple is by far one of the most beautiful discoveries I've had the chance to make. Wat Pha Last is nestled in the forest, a few kilometers down the road to Doi Suthep. Built on the top of a rock, this Buddhist temple is completely out of sight, lost in the lush jungle, as peaceful as it can get. You won't find any tourists here, any tuk tuk or food stall, but only butterflies, Buddhas and monks.
Some say it's a little Hong Kong in Taiwan style, other say it's much more messy than that... Actually, Taipei is a perfect blend of what travelers love about Southeast Asia combined with some of Northeast Asia's particularities. Our trip was short and rainy, but we still got enough sunshine and energy to enjoy this creative capital...

It is not uncommon to hear people saying they've seen everything in Hong Kong once they've ticked all the boxes on their check list. Our trip across Java is one of the most extraordinary we have ever done. Obviously in terms of scenery, but also for the people, the atmosphere, the silence, the smoke slowly coming out of that huge crater, that feeling to be privileged to be walking on the Moon, and that pristine nature...
I just came back from my very first trip in China and still can't believe how amazing it was. I have to confess: I had lots of pre-ideas about China. I've heard so many stories from travelers, I just wanted to go there and explore it by myself. To get my own idea… Beijing literally blew my mind, for different reasons.
The bus ride, the fear, the smiles, the wind, the silence of the Himalayas, the altitude sickness, the yak cheese & tea combo, the outdoor shower, the sun burning our skin, the bags -to pack, unpack and repack, the mountain stupas, the prayer flags, the thin air, the exhaustion, the happiness, the peaks, the tears...

We stayed almost a year in Indonesia, expats, based in Jakarta. Unfortunately we had to eat, therefore, we had to work -and couldn't spend all our time traveling. But, still, we took the time to explore the islands and discover heavenly places. Let me think back to these amazing memories...
The moment I step on the land of the long white cloud & the 60 millions sheep, I immediately fall in love with the place. I lived some of the most terrific experiences ever, there. I had six beautiful months to enjoy every recesses of the country. Was it enough? Of course not. But that's ok, it gives me an perfect excuse to plan another trip there. It's on the list.
Hong Kong is the perfect place for a stopover. A few hours or a couple of days, time to eat some Dim Sum, see the Peak and say Hi to Big Buddha, then you can hit the road again and head to your "real" destination. WRONG.
