We stayed almost a year in Indonesia, expats, based in Jakarta. Unfortunately we had to eat, therefore, we had to work -and couldn't spend all our time traveling. But, still, we took the time to explore the islands and discover heavenly places. Let me think back to these amazing memories...

After a year in Hong Kong Island's madness, we decided to move before we get crazy. And we discovered the other Hong Kong. For those who follow me on Instagram, you've seen the photos of my afternoons on desert beaches and my running sessions along the sea, looking at the sunset. Yes, Lantau is kinda cool. Real escape from the crowds of the city in only a few minutes ferry or MTR, Lantau will surprise you by its authenticity. Forget about Ngong Ping and explore the real beauty of Lantau Island.
The islands of the Kerama group are a world away from everything you know. An archipelago surrounded by coral reefs and unbelievably transparent seas where time has stopped years ago. A place where you live in close communion with the ocean, in a unique atmosphere. It consists of 22 small islands, southwest of Okinawa's main island. It's picturesque, with few people and an incredible wildlife.
Suffice it to say that I've fallen in love with Indonesia. In Bali, there's the best and the worst, so you'd better keep moving to find the place that will really charm you. Then you'll eventually understand why the hell people love it so much. For us, this place is called Uluwatu. With its easygoing spirit, it's the place that kind of... make sense, shall we say?
You can spend the day overflying desert islands and the night trekking on a volcano; attend a cooking class on the morning and ride a zipline in the jungle with wild monkeys around you on the afternoon. In short, it's a whole different world that awaits you with surprises you won't even imagine... Pack your flip-flops, swimsuit and passport. You're off to a big adventure!
Nusa Lembongan is the kind of place where you find yourself immersed in adventure and the outdoors. Some would say there's not much to do besides lying on the beach, however we found ourselves pretty busy during our stay -between a swim with massive mantas, cliff jumps, sunrise jog on the beach and Bintangs with the locals. Get ready for a journey in the Bali of your dreams...
We lived in Indonesia for a year, and were lucky to have Bali as our 'weekend destination'. We spent a lot of time on the island of Gods, and we loved it. We hated it. We loved it.
