How to Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone?

"If you're not where your want to be, if you don't have what you want to have, if you're not where you think you should be at this particular point, it has nothing to do with the system but it has everything to do with the fact that you're not making the sacrifices. Make your dream become a reality, because if you don't, you'll be working for someone else to make his dreams become a reality."

Get out of your comfort zone

Why should you wait to win the lottery to get out of your comfort zone and begin living the life you think you deserve? What are you really waiting for? Sometimes project is so big, so fuzzy and so scary that you simply don't want to contemplate it at all. But you can do something about that, and you can do it right now.

Ask yourself the good questions, and take this life decision. It's time for a fresh start.

I know it can be tough when it comes to getting out of your comfort zone, daring to be different and going on the direction of your fears. But, tell me, when did you stop listening to yourself? Life is NOT fairStop dreaming of the day your life will change. Have you done the necessary to achieve your dreams?

Let's talk about you. Where do you spend the most part of your time? At work, right? So it's not "just a job". It's a very important part of your life, which makes you happy -or not. Maybe you think about quitting that job, someday, to get a fresh start and get out of your comfort zone. Breaking news: someday is not a day of the week. Many people in this situation fear of how things will work out after that. The fear of the unknown -aka freedom, depends on the point of view. You may be surprised how much you exaggerate everything.

I'm not telling you that it's gonna be easy, I'm telling you it's going to be worth it.

I've been through the exact same process. I wanted to travel solo, to challenge myself and face my fears, but I was settled in my routine, I had a beautiful apartment, I was about to get promoted at work and... I was making up a whole bunch of excuses. Until the day I've decided to stop acting like people expected me to, and start living my own life.

Nothing is written anymore. I know what I went through in the past, I know today will be awesome, and I'm not scared anymore about the future -just excited! The best way to predict it isn't to create it?
Here's a video that will clarify my thoughts.

Don't get me wrong, I had a GREAT life before I started traveling. I've just had that feeling that I was losing control. There were no place for the unknown anymore. I've defined my dreams and priorities, took a open ticket to Auckland, New Zealand, and that was it. The hardest part it to take that life decision. Then the dream starts being real.

your worst enemy is yourself. Remember : if it was easy, everybody would do it.

Sometimes the obstacles look bigger than they are. And the sacrifices may really worth it. You need to define your goal, then get out of your comfort zone and make everything necessary to achieve it.

A Business Insider article discussed 15 scientifically-proven things that make people happier and travel is one of them. Buying a plane ticket instead of an IPad would make you much happier. Tell me again, what are you waiting for?

Get out of your comfort zone : life's not meant to be lived in one place

Dare to be different. Remember who you are and what does happiness really mean for you.

When is your favorite moment in your day? When was the last time you felt really happy? Where do you see yourself in five years? What is your craziest idea (which probably is a good one)? If you could change ONE thing in your life, what would it be? If you had money, time and energy, what would you do? What's your best memory at work -NO, you can't mention your farewell party? If one of your hobbies could become your job, which one would you choose? Who do you want to become? If you could go anywhere in the world, where would that be? What are you priorities? What do you love/hate in your life? When was the last time you did something for the first time?

So you want to travel the world. What do your expect from that project? What do you want to change in your life?

There is no such thing as the right time. It's like having a baby, or starting your company. There will never be enough hours in a day to do everything you want. Make a timeline, and organize your life project. Stop wishing, start doing.

Get out of your comfort zone : adventure awaits.

If you wait to be ready, you may never go. You need a goal. When you'll have meet it, you'll be able to do anything. More than that, you may become addicted to challenges. Than life starts to be truly exciting.

The most important thing is never stop believing. Your future is created by what you do today, not tomorrow. Think about now.

Don't hope everybody is going to congratulate you and hug you for your life decision. Some friends will be way too scared of breaking out their comfort zone to understand you, and even some close friends could be dragging you down. Never forget you're doing that for YOU. Don't bother listening people who'll try to kill your motivation. Instead, find people from other walks of life who can push you even further.

When I left my Parisian life, I had to make my roomies change apartment, leave my boyfriend for a Skype-relationship, and abandon a friend who really needed me at that time. You won't find the solution to suit everybody. Think about you first. Be selfish, once in your life. Then it would be easier to take care of your kinfolks.

Believe that it's possible, no matter what happens.

You need a deadline. Waiting would be a colossal waste of time. Grab a post-it and a pen. Write down where do you want to go, how much money you want to save, and, most important: WHEN. Stick it on your fridge. Take another piece of paper and write down all the steps that will bring you to your goal, from possibly convincing your partner to buy the ticket, quit your job and organize the logistic. Then chose a deadline for each of these items. This action plan will bring you out of your comfort zone, to your fresh start.

So you want to see the world. Eh! Are you nut? How the hell do you plan to afford that crazy project? If you're not planning to rob a bank or to ruin Vegas, you may need a few tips...

Get out of your comfort zone : life is either a daring adventure or nothing.

You plan to make your dream come true, and the journey will be lengthy and intense. It starts right here. Right now. From now you will dream travel, eat travel and breathe travel. And, on the top of it, you will spend travel...

don't forget what Nelson used to say: it always seems impossible until it's done!

From now, your new lifestyle has to be your priority. Ready for a fresh start? Action!
1. DON'T WAIT TO SAVE. Every month, pull automatically money from your paycheck and put it into savings. Then be sure not touching it anymore.
2. SELL EVERYTHING YOU OWN. Don't forget: there's no little saving. You can sell your car, your furnitures, as well as your clothes, books, and knick-knacks. This article from Living Well Spending Less is full of good tips for that! Go Feng Shui: get rid of all these "essential things" that are just obstructing your life and braking your project.
3. GO AIRBNB. This stuff is amazing. I used to rent my room in Paris $95/night, while sleeping with my roommate. We also rented the lounge, and made a lot of money, effortless! In six months, we earned more than $3000. The only duty was to keep the flat clean and nice, and it got us to meet some really nice people from all over the world.
4. STOP THE $20 MOJITOS. Have you already counted the cost of all your after-works combined in one month? Go for home diner with your friends, picnics in nature and start to learn the art of homemade Mojitos!
5. STOP SHOPPING. Don't you already have a nice pair of shoes? Would you use this for your trip? What will make you more happy, that $300 bag or a boat-trip to swim with the dolphins during your trip, let's say, in Australia?
6. WORK, LIKE CRAZY. You may say you don't have a lot of time for that. Choice to you, define your priorities. You can do baby-sitting, extra waiter, freelance writing, gardening, anything. Take the opportunities.

Most people assume that us, perpetual nomads, have won the lottery. The truth is, living on the road is cheaper then sustaining a home. If you want to travel in luxurious hotels and do all the expensive trips, your trip won't be long. You have to think long term. It's not a sprint you're doing, it's a marathon.

Get out of your comfort zone : be where you want to be.

Here you are. Out of your comfort zone, nothing holds you back anymore...

Take advantage of opportunities. Your friend living in Canada is going for a three months trip overseas ? Ask to take care of his house. Find out if you have any connections in a place -staying with a trusted friend of a friend is a great option. Reach out on social media where people can help you find great deals in cities you’ll be visiting.

Travel smart and work for your bed and food. It's a perfect way to cut up budget while meeting the locals. I did six months of HelpX in New Zealand, and met lovely families. Some helped me to buy my very first car, some treated me with an acrobatic paragliding experience or a couple of surf lessons escorted by a pod of dolphins. All of this just in exchange of a few hours gardening, pretty much. And these are among the best moments I've ever had in my life.
Woofing is kind of the same, more related to work in organic farms. And CouchSurfing can be a nice way to have a great experience as well, no money asking.

Keep your savings and finance your trip while traveling. Who talked about holidays? Unless you have enough savings to meet your needs long term, you'll have to roll up your sleeves a bit. You can clean your backpacker to pay your room, work in a cruise company, teach whatever language, become a hairstylist, gardener, babysitter... There are plenty of options. Just keep an eye on what people need where you are.

And the last but not the least: BECOME DIGITAL. What are you good at? Can you sell it online? Can you continue your work from a computer? Think about a way to turn digital, to be able to work from everywhere. Then you'll go serene, having an income during your trip.

You live only once, but if you do it right, once is enough.

Waow! It's a bloody long article. I speak waaaay too much. Hey, by the way, nice to meet you guys! If you want to have a coffee and meet, well... Seems complicated. You better go this way ! It took me hours to write this article, being the very first of the blog, I've deleted all and started again and again and... Well, here we are now.

So, if you like it, please share it, like it and comment it. You'll make my day! Thank you. And don't forget to follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest (I'm addicted to this thing!), and to like my Facebook Page. See you in a bit and, as my surf instructor told me : NEVER EVER GIVE UP !
